Applications
A protected derivative of N-methyl-L-cysteine used as a specialized building block in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). N-Methylation alters peptide conformation, improves enzymatic stability, and enhances membrane permeability. It is also used to prepare peptide thioesters via N-to-S acyl migration and in the synthesis of cyclic or natural peptides.
