Applications
An orthogonally protected ornithine building block used in Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS). The base-labile Fmoc group on the α-amino site allows step-by-step backbone chain extension, while the acid-labile Boc group protects the δ-amino side chain. The Boc group remains stable during routine Fmoc removal steps and is cleaved concurrently during final trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) treatment. Widely utilized for incorporating ornithine residues into cyclic peptides, peptidomimetics, and modified arginine analogs.
